Stacking The Shelves and Sunday Post

This meme is hosted by Tynga over at Team Tynga's Reviews, which she describes as follows:
"Stacking The Shelves is all about the books we are adding to our shelves each week, sharing with you our excitement for our newest titles and maybe have you discover a new book in the process!"

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

We had a little bit of snow since it all melted away last week, and we are expecting a dump of 30 cm (that's 11.8 inches) by Wednesday. Then the temperature drops to a high -10 degrees Celsius (that's 14 degrees Fahrenheit) on Thursday and a high of -15 degrees Celsius (that's 5 degrees Fahrenheit) on Friday, so this time I think the snow will stick around! Here's what we look like now (I expect the snow on the picnic table will be much higher in next week's picture!):

The temperature is currently -1 degree Celsius, and it is supposed to go up to +1 today. I think these are the last few days of temps on the plus side.

I didn't buy anything new this past week, but I won a couple of giveaways!

I won this $10 Amazon Gift Card in the Gratitude Giveaway Hop challenge hosted by Angela Christina Archer.

Thanks again, Angela!

I also won this audiobook in a giveaway hosted by Linda Weaver Clarke:

Mystery on the Bayou by Linda Weaver Clarke
(Amelia Moore Detective Series, Book #6)

Thanks again, Linda!

I also downloaded this FREEBIE from Tantor Media:

  1. You had some nice wins this week. Ah the white stuff, I only like it when we don't have to go out in it. Hop your week is a good one!

    1. I know, driving in it is not so good :( It makes for a very long commute to work! But it sure does make things pretty :)

  2. You are gonna' get hammered. You better keep your shovel by the front door. We are in the south, so we don't get any snow, but as a girl born and raised in New York, I actually miss the cold, messy shiz.

    1. I know! The last two storms that were heading our way missed us, so we've avoided the worst of it so far. I can't complain, because here it is December and no significant snowfall!

  4. We kind of look like that too since it snowed today... but we're not as cold as you are there! I thought we were going to get a lot but it's slowing down. Congrats on the gift card!

    1. Thanks, Greg! We actually got quite a bit more today and, because the temperature is so mild, the snow is very wet and sticky and heavy. Perfect for building a snowman, but it's hard on the back for shovelling! I'm glad I got the driveway cleared off before the big dump tomorrow.

  5. Goodness, snow already. It's been cold here - thirties, forties - but no snow yet. HURRAY for an Amazon gift card! Those are always handy.

Have a fabulous week, Darlene! :)
