The #StephenKing Challenge: Salem's Lot Read-Along - Discussion One #TuesBookTalk

This is the first discussion on the book so far, until Part 10 of Chapter 4.

Alright, I'm finally at a check-in point! I know I'm a little late :)

I remember watching this movie on TV when I was just a kid. I would have been nine years old. Wow, I would never let my kids watch a movie like this at that age! LOL!! There is one particular scene in the movie that I still remember to this day, and it scared the dickens out of me. My older sister used to torment me with the scene. When we get to it in the story, I'll mention it. I don't want to spoil anything. Aside from that one part that is burned vividly into my brain, I don't remember a whole lot about the movie so that's a good thing.

Stephen King knows just how to spin a tale! I love how he sets the scene for what's about to come. Creepy old house? Check. Grisly animal death? Check. Missing child? Check. Strangers in town? Check. He has also the basic elements covered to lead us into, what I hope will be, a jump-out-of-your-skin-at-the-slightest-noise type of book!

Who are the man and the boy in the Prologue? The man is a novelist and drives a Citroen, so is that supposed to be Ben Mears? If so, then who is the boy?

I think this is a great pick to read for this time of year, with the spookiness of Halloween in the air. I can't wait to continue on in the story!
