Audiobook Review: 4 out of 5 stars for Agatha Raisin and the Haunted House by M.C. Beaton @mc_beaton @BlackstoneAudio @PeneKeith1

TITLE: Agatha Raisin and the Haunted House
SERIES: Agatha Raisin, Book #14
AUTHOR: M.C. Beaton
NARRATOR: Penelope Keith
PUBLISHER: Blackstone Audio, Inc.
PUBLICATION DATE: June 28, 2010
FORMAT: Unabridged audiobook
LENGTH: 6 hrs and 43 mins
GENRE: Mystery/Cozy Mystery
Reports of a haunted house soon have amateur sleuth Agatha Raisin snooping around, only to discover the victim of the haunting is a universally disliked old biddy on whom someone is playing a practical joke. But then the old lady is murdered and, for Agatha, solving a crime is much more fun than ghost-busting. Very soon she’s up to her usual tricks, involving the villagers, local police, and, naturally, her handsome new neighbor.
MY REVIEW:

In the 14th book of the Agatha Raisin series, Agatha has a new neighbour, Paul Chatterton. He actually enlists her help to investigate a reportedly haunted house owned by Mrs. Witherspoon. Are the neighbours playing tricks on poor Mrs. Witherspoon to drive her batty? It seems that there aren’t too many people who like the woman. Paul and Agatha offer to stay the night to bag the ghost, and Agatha gets frightened off by Mrs. Witherspoon in a face mask! It seems unusual that Agatha would get so rattled and, no doubt, she feels a bit foolish at her own antics. However, when Mrs. Witherspoon is murdered, Agatha and Paul pair up again to solve the case.

Charles resurfaces and, oh, how I’ve missed him! I am a bit dismayed that Agatha keeps falling for the same type of men, but I guess that is part of her style. This is another entertaining addition to the series.

I never grow tired of listening to Penelope Keith! She is such an animated narrator, and she literally had me in stitches in a few spots.

MY RATING:

4 stars!! It was really good! You should put it on your TBR list if you enjoy cozy mysteries.
