The Christmas Spirit Reading Challenge: Wrap-up Post

Hi, everyone!

The Christmas Spirit Reading Challenge

This is my wrap-up post for The Christmas Spirit Reading Challenge hosted by Michelle of The True Book Addict at The Christmas Spirit blog.

CHALLENGE COMPLETED!
LEVEL ACHIEVED: CANDY CANE (READ 1 CHRISTMAS BOOK)
PLUS FA LA LA LA FILMS LEVEL
PLUS VISIONS OF SUGAR PLUMS LEVEL

This is the book that I read for Candy Cane Level:
  1. The Christmas List by Richard Paul Evans

These are the movies that I watched with my kids for Fa La La La Films Level:
  1. The Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation (2010)
  2. Disney's A Christmas Carol (2009)

These are the books that I read to my kids for Visions of Sugar Plums Level:
  1. Mrs. Claus Takes a Vacation by Linas Alsenas
  2. Christmas Farm by Mary Lyn Ray
  3. The Christmas House by Carol Bullman
  4. Arthur's Perfect Christmas by Marc Brown
  5. On Christmas Eve by Margaret Wise Brown
  6. The Berenstain Bears Save Christmas by Stan & Jan Berenstain
  7. An Elf for Christmas by Michael Garland
  8. Pippin the Christmas Pig by Jean Little and Werner Zimmermann
  9. Pooch on the Loose: A Christmas Adventure by Steven Kroll
  10. The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore
I know that I read even more books to the kids, but I stopped keeping track. I wrote a whole bunch of reviews at year-end, and I am currently suffering from review burn-out and that is why I didn't manage to write reviews for most of the Christmas books that I read to my kids.

Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year, so I had lots of fun participating in this reading challenge!

Thanks again for hosting, Michelle! Can't wait to do it again this year!!

  1. Congrats on completing the challenge! I loved The Christmas List when I read it last year. I also loved the two films you watched. I watched both of them again this year. Disney's A Christmas Carol is so wonderful and really true to the original story. I was skeptical about it being a 'cartoon' when it first came out, but I soon realized that it was brilliant. Glad you got so much reading in with your kids as well. Looking forward to you joining me again this year!

Have you signed up for my read-a-thon in two weeks? http://thetruebookaddict.blogspot.com/2011/12/winters-respite-read-thon-2012.html

I'm going to sign up for your Sookie Stackhouse reading challenge too. =O)
